Welcome to my card making and crafty things blog! I've recently been taking card making classes at Altenew Academy to learn new card making techniques. Here's a sample of what you can create with techniques from some of the classes. Click on the title above to view a card sample from each class.
Hawaiian Coral Build a Flower caught my eye and didn't disappoint on this card. In All About Layering 3, layering adds dimension with stacked die cuts & popping up a layer using foam tape. Great tips for flower and leaf placement allow your card design to flow more naturally.
Learn to line up images as you layer stamps in All About Layering 4. This rose set is Vintage Roses.
Less is more with Clean & Simple Boutique Cards using the Little Starfish stamp & sentiment.
Try some Easy Ink Blending with ink over white embossed images. Why not use all the birthday sentiments from Birthday Greetings as a border?
Sometimes you need a card just For the Guys. Using geometric shapes helps make a card feel more masculine. This Cube Cover Die is one of my most used Altenew products.
I'm not a very sparkly person, but this card from Let It Shine is one of my favorites. The gold embossing with the pink ink blended Pristine Peonies is beautiful. The added touch of shine with sequins and glitter paper pull it all together.
I love stencils! Celebration: Stencil Techniques stretched my stencil use in new ways. This Liquid Marble stencil looks a lot more abstract using a watercolor technique. I have continued to play around with using stencils with shimmer paste, watercolors... the list is endless.
This Garden Bench mini set was perfect for Seasonal Scene Building. I created a mini book for a trip to Washington, D.C for cherry blossom season.
Die cutting is easy and fun! Easy Die Cutting Techniques is full of tips, including inlay die cutting as shown with this azalea and "hugs" sentiment. The Sunburst Azalea is a bit more challenging to layer without the key hole system newer layering dies have.
Irresistible Inking Techniques was bursting with ways to use your gorgeous inks...inking direct to paper, inking then spritzing with water, and painting with ink using a watercolor brush were some of my favorites. I also love this mini set Regal Frame with the Organic Linen embossing folder and some Mayan Gold Shimmer Relief Paste.
