Nicki Baxley's color palette for Altenew's October Inspiration Challenge inspired me to select the colors for this card, but one of my scraps inspired the layout!
Scrap Inspiration
The die for this set is all one piece. I cut it out of a very light celery green cards tock. When I removed the pieces, I was inspired to use the negative as the background and inset the pieces. Some shading with a light green ink was used to highlight the area.
Adding Dimension
The pieces were run through the embossing folder to add the texture, then ink blended. The pieces fit in the negative spaces like a puzzle. To add dimension, I cut another flower piece to go under the purple flowers. I shaded it green so that I could adhere the purple flowers just in the center and allow the edges to stick up slightly. The orange flowers were adhered with foam tape to pop them up even higher.
Final Details
To finish it off, I shaded the sentiment and popped it up with foam tape. Enamel dots complete the flower centers and bronze watercolor splatter tied it all together.
