This month at A Place to Start the twist is to make an easel card. I couldn't wait to break out this holiday stencil I snagged on clearance at Hero Arts. It's a stencil of the month from 2024, but still available as of this posting. I just love the magical feel of it.
Thanks to Karen's Stamping Habit, I found easy to follow directions to make this card. The diagram was super helpful for a visual learner like myself. The base is a deep green to match the darker green in the stenciling.
Stenciling

The stenciled portion was a set of 4 stencils. Cranberry color inks from Gina K Designs gave the scene a different feel while remaining on the traditional side. On the last stencil, I used Enchanted Gold Shimmer Relief Paste. This adds shine and dimension.
The stenciled panel has the tree on the left side, so I cut the two side strips from the right side of the panel. I wanted the tree in the center of the easel card and it worked perfectly.
Little Details with a Big Impact
The gold sentiment strip looks great on the dark green and the little details nearby, polish the card off. The little poinsettia and tiny gift box are from the Timeless Sled die set from Altenew. A gold flower center and gold glitter bow connect these details to the gold sentiment strip. These items are popped up with foam tape for extra dimension.
